Sometimes life gets very busy that theres not much time to sit down and read a good book. That’s why audiobooks are so great. Audiobooks give you the opportunity to listen to books while you are doing other things. Below I have listed five audiobooks worth listening to right now.

Five Audiobooks Worth Listening To Right Now

The Girls by Emma Cline

The Girls (ad) by Emma Cline is a great read. This book is loosely inspired by the Manson cult. This story follows the main character Evie who spots a group of girls one day and quickly becomes obsessed with one of them who’s name is Suzanne. Her obsession with Suzanne leads Evie to want to hang out at the ranch and become as involved in their daily activities as possible. Throughout this book you get to see how Evie changes the more and more she hangs out with this group of people. You also get to see how far she’s willing to go to be as close to Suzanne as possible.

The ending was a bit underwhelming for me, and I definitely think it had the potential for more. Despite this, I definitely think it’s a must read. It’s fantastic as an audiobook.

The London House by Katherine Reay

If you are looking for a historical read then The London House (ad) by Katherine Reay is for you. This story follows Caroline Payne who is on a mission to prove her great aunt was not a traitor who abandoned her loved ones for a German Nazi.

Caroline reads through letters between her great aunt and grandmother looking for clues as to what really happened.

This story is beautifully written and definitely one to add to your TBR list.

My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell

My Dark Vanessa (ad) was a phenomenal read. It’s definitely a book that should come with a trigger warning. So definitely skip ahead if you don’t want to read a book that has sexual abuse.

This story follows Vanessa who had a sexual relationship with her teacher when she was a teenager. My Dark Vanessa alternates between past and future as Vanessa looks back at what she went through, and as she tries to come to terms with what really happened to her. As the reader you can really see her struggle to understand that it was abuse and not love. My Dark Vanessa is a dark powerful and emotional read.

Seven Dirty Secrets by Natalie D. Richards

Looking for a good mystery that’s not overly suspenseful? Then check out Seven Dirty Secrets (ad) by Natalie D. Richards. This story follows eighteen year old Cleo who receives clues for a scavenger hunt on her birthday. It soon becomes apparent that all the clues are tied to her now dead boyfriend Cyrus. The clues has the main character wondering if her dead boyfriend is really dead after all.

Seven Dirty Secrets is a good read for anyone looking for a mystery book that’s not overly dark and mysterious.

Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

If you like watching true crime videos and documentaries then you might really like Local Woman Missing (ad). It’s a fictional book about two women and a young girl going missing within a short period of time. These disappearances have people wondering if they are all connected.

Local Woman Missing is a multi-perspective book and it has multiple timelines. This book is mysterious, sad and filled with flawed characters.

All in all Local Woman Missing is a great mystery.
