There has been so much talk about the new Harry Potter coloring book. As a HUGE fan, I could not resist buying it.
It truly breaks my heart to say that I am disappointed with the book. I was expecting there to be a lot of detail like the A Game of Thrones coloring book, or the Outlander coloring book, but there wasn’t.
I had expected to see beautiful images of the Great Hall, inside the Dursely’s home, or even images of the ghosts at Hogwarts. How cool would it have been to color in Peeves the poltergeist?
Some of the images are straight from the movies which I like. Others are just pages with the same image printed all over it. I would have loved if they would have kept the background of the scene of the movies not replaced them with graphics.
Just from touching the paper I can tell it is not as good as the Johanna Basford coloring books or even the A Game of Thrones coloring book.
There are pictures of scenes from the movie in the back of the book for inspiration when coloring, which I also like.
I do think the coloring book is beautiful, and I think it will make any Harry Potter fan want to watch the movies while coloring it. ( I know I will!) I also wish it was a little cheaper. It is selling at stores for $15.99.
