Crop Sweater Under A Dress Outfit
If you have a crop sweater then you can definitely style it under dresses. It is the same concept as styling a tee or mesh top under a dress only this time you can style the dress with the cropped sweater for extra warmth.
Choose a sweater that is on the thinner more lightweight side to avoid any bulkiness. Mock neck or turtleneck sweater will work great with this outfit idea.
You can match the shade of your shoes with either the dress or sweater for a more cohesive look. Black boots will also work with this outfit.

How To Style A Dress With A Sweater For Work
A maxi dress with a sweater layered over it and some sling back shoes or kitten heels will make for a super stylish work outfit. A thicker belt around the waist will help break up the outfit and give it more shape as well as cinch in the waist. You can tuck in your sweater into the belt to give your outfit more form.
For a work outfit I think a monochromatic black outfit will be suitable for most work places. However, if your dress code isn’t so strict then you can definitely experiment with other colors and prints.
I am a really big fan of having different textures in my outfits so I really like how a maxi slip dress like the one above looks with a chunky sweater. The difference in textures makes a monochromatic outfit look a lot more interesting.
Maxi Dress And Sweater Outfit
If you are looking for an outfit idea that has a dress with a print on it then this one is for you. Style your dress with a print with a sweater or cardigan of a similar color. For example, I styled my maxi wrap dress with a white print on it with a slouchy black sweater and some black chunky boots. Sticking with similar color tones will make the outfit less chaotic and not clash.
You can use a belt to tuck in your sweater or tie a knot in the front or back of your sweater and tuck that in for a more cinched in look.
Fall Dress With Boots Outfit Idea
Mini dresses can also be transitioned into fall outfits. Style your mini dress with a chunky or slouchy sweater over it and instead of tucking your sweater into your belt let it hang down for a very edgy almost bohemian look.

For a dressier Thanksgiving outfit idea I stuck with neutral color tones and a pop of color. I think a mossy green dress (choose your preferred fall color) with a neutral beige sweater layered over it will look stunning as a Thanksgiving outfit.
By wearing your sweater over your dress it will almost make the illusion of wearing a skirt rather than a dress. Sling back heels or kitten heels will look great with this outfit.

Christmas Outfit Idea
Are you looking for a chic Christmas outfit idea? Consider a white dress with a white cardigan layered over it. Brown knee-high or over-the-knee boots will look great with this outfit. However, black boots will also work.
White looks stunning during Christmas time. If you are going to be taking a lot of pictures the white really pops in front of traditional green and red Christmas decorations.
