Leggings are one of my all – time favorite things to wear. They are super comfortable and so easy to wear. I first started wearing leggings when I was in high school. One of my favorite places to shop was at Express and they always had simple black leggings and also some more fashion forward ones. I remember buying a black pair with a really cool glossy almost snake like print on top; it was one of my favorite pair of leggings to wear. I also remember people making fun of me because I didn’t wear them with long enough tops or dresses. I am here to tell you that I think it’s perfectly okay to wear them outside of the gym with whatever top you think is cute. But, just to clarify I am talking about thick non see – through leggings not tights.
If you find the right pair you can definitely wear them with cropped tops, t-shirts, blouses and oversized sweaters. The possibilities are endless.
Whenever I wear leggings I prefer to wear leggings that are made specifically to wear out not work out. I have two pairs of leggings from Zara that have silver zippers all over and they add a little bit of an edge to all of my outfits. Now that leggings are a lot more popular you can find some with pockets, zippers and really cool designs like this pair from Alo Yoga.
However, if you don’t have time to go out and buy a fancy pair of leggings you can definitely make it work with the ones you might already own. If you love activewear chances are you probably already have a great pair of leggings. The ones I am wearing in the picture above are from Zella. They have a really small logo on the side so I can get away with wearing them with a t -shirt. These are also great if you are leaving a yoga session to meet friends for a quick lunch. I’m pretty sure they won’t know you were just doing yoga if you show up wearing these. I love to wear these with a band t-shirt, leather jacket, and some cute ankle boots. When it gets colder out I will be swapping out the t-shirt for an oversized sweater.
