My Nighttime Routine

Over the last few weeks my nighttime routine has changed a lot and I have noticed a big difference in how I feel the next day. For years my bedtime routine consisted of me doing my everyday nighttime skincare routine and then scrolling through Instagram, Twitter or reading a book for hours until I fell asleep. I cannot tell you how many times I have woken up and not being able to find my phone because it’s lost in all of the pillows and blankets on my bed or with book pages and covers completely bent. 

There would be days when I would wake up and not feel well rested at all and I realized it was time for me to change my nighttime routine. I no longer go on any of my social media sites right before bed. I try not to use my phone an hour to two hours before bed (except when I meditate). Instead I use the two hours before bed to plan my next day in my bullet journal, read and then do some meditation.

Meditation has really changed the way that I feel throughout the day and it makes me feel a lot more relaxed. When I meditate at night I truly think I sleep better and I feel well rested in the morning. Tarot and Oracle decks have been some of my favorite tools to self- reflect. There are some really amazing decks out there. I also have been doing a lot of guided meditation from some of my favorite YouTube channels. Right now my favorite channel to do guided meditations from is Cat Meffan’s channel. Guided meditations are the only time I use my phone before bed. I don’t know if meditating before bed is the right way to do it, but it works for me.

The ThisWorks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and Breathe In roll on have been great products to use a night as well. I spray the the pillow spray right before bed and I apply Breathe In before I sit down and meditate.

I am really happy with my new nighttime routine.
