The first time I heard about bullet journaling was about a year ago. I was watching all of these different Plan With Me videos on YouTube and I knew I wanted to try it out for myself. However, I was a little intimidated by how artistic all of the journals were that I decided to get a regular planner and try bullet journaling later.
Fast forward to last week when I got frustrated with my planner because I didn’t have enough space to write down everything I needed to do and ideas. I felt that my planner was too unorganized so I went online and bought myself a large Leuchtturm1917 dotted notebook.
Setting Up My Journal
Before I started setting up my journal I went on the bullet journal website and read about how to set it up. I knew I wanted it to be minimalistic. I also knew that I didn’t want to spend too much time planning. The videos that I kept seeing online were really artistic. They also had a lot of charts to track things like fitness and sleep. Making charts and drawing were things I knew I didn’t want to do much of. I have been adding some color here and there on some list titles and on monthly spreads. In the future I might draw a little bit but not too much that it makes my journal not look organized.
What I Use My Journal It For
Right now I use my bullet journal to stay organized with my blog and YouTube channel. I will also be writing my blog post and video ideas on there.
Why I Love My Bullet Journal
I really love how flexible the bullet journal system is. The future log is super helpful and probably my favorite thing about this system. I use the same key that is shown on the bullet journal site and it works for me. I like that I’m not wasting space and paper with this journal. If I am not doing anything blog or YouTube channel related then I don’t plan anything the night before and therefore don’t waste any space in my journal. If I have a lot of things going on then I can use as many pages as I need to write down everything. Lastly, I love that this journal will last me until I get to the last page not when the year ends.
