Stripes for Spring

Spring is finally here – even though it doesn’t feel like it – and that means it’s time for me to start taking out all of the spring clothing that has been hiding in a storage bin all winter.

My spring wardrobe consists of dresses, t-shirts, and leggings. So far I have been wearing pretty much the same things I wore throughout fall since it’s still chilly. Not very fashion forward of me I know.

One of the trends I have been seeing everywhere is animal prints, and utility inspired items. Have you seen utility pants, dresses and suits all over Instagram? I have, and I love this trend. Although I really like these trends I don’t know if I would personally get much use out of them in a few months or even next year when a new trend comes around. Don’t get me wrong I do love to buy the occasional trendy item. But so far I am really enjoying clothing with stripes as a print.

I feel like stripes never go out of style; it’s just one of those prints that everyone seems to have in their closet somewhere. Over the years I have purchased a few items with stripes and I have rediscovered them again.

I recently found a super cute dress from the Who What Wear line at Target that I bought a few years ago. It’s a little bit oversized now but I think with a belt around the waist I can definitely get more wear out of it.

Another dress that I rediscovered is a gorgeous black and off- white stripped dress from Topshop. I totally forgot that I owned these two dresses and I am so happy to be wearing them again. Who doesn’t love rediscovering old cute items in their closet?

The great thing about this classic print is that I don’t feel like I am wearing something that’s out of style even when I’m around people wearing the latest trends. Wearing clothing with stripes is something that I don’t think i’ll look back on years from now going “OMG what was I thinking?!” but who knows? Maybe I will regret every fashion choice I have ever made.

How do you feel about the latest trends? Love them or hate them? Let me know in the comments!
