2016 was the year that I started to get back into reading again. When I was a teenager I practically lived in books but when I got to college that all changed. With work, internships, and school projects I simply didn’t have the time. However, last year I definitely wanted to make the time to read more books and I did. Below is a list of all of the books that really stood out to me.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah: If you enjoy reading historical fiction books then I think you might really enjoy this. This story follows the lives of two sister during WWII. It is a captivating heartbreaking story and I really enjoyed reading this book.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: Loved this book! You can read my review here.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass: I randomly picked up this book at my local library. I loved the plot as well as the way that Sarah J. Mass writes. I found this book unique and different from other YA books.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas: Since I liked A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas I was excited to read the sequel. I didn’t think her books could get any better, but I loved this book even more than the first one.

Life After Death by Damien Echols: This book is eye opening. You can read some of my thoughts on the book here.

The Assassins Blade by Sarah J. Maas: In case you haven’t realized 2016 was the year I discovered the world of Sarah J.Maas. I read The Throne of Glass Series. The book that stood out to me the most is The Assassins Blade. I found this book to be very different from the rest. In this book you get to read more about Aelin Galathyniou’s past and get to read more about her life as an assassin which I really liked.

Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Read almost the whole Lux Series last year, which included Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, Origin, Opposition. This is a great YA fiction series about aliens. This year I plan on reading the prequel Shadow. I am currently reading Oblivion.

Wicked Trilogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout: After reading the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout I started reading the Wicked Trilogy which included Wicked, and Torn. The characters in this series have so much personality; I was instantly hooked.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: I finally read The Mortal Instruments and absolutely loved all the books. I truly think that her writing just got better and better with every book she brought out. This series has everything from warlocks to vampires, and demons. It is a world that I enjoyed getting lost in.
