Today I am going to be talking about my top 5 beautiful tarot decks for beginners recommendations. My previous post was all about my top 5 oracle decks. I had so much fun going through my entire tarot and oracle deck collection and coming up with these posts for you all.
When it comes to tarot there are different types of tarot deck systems such as Rider-Waite Smith, Thoth, and Marseille. For this blog post I am only going to be focusing on Rider-Waite Smith tarot decks and decks that follow this system.
Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot Deck
Any version of the Raider Waite Smith deck (ad) is a good place to start on your tarot journey. There are a lot of decks inspired by this artwork, so if you don’t like this one you will be able to find others that you might like. Also, a lot of guidebooks have images from this deck so as a beginner that might be extremely helpful when studying tarot.
Dreaming Way Tarot by Rome Choi
The Dreaming Way Tarot (ad) is absolutely stunning. The artwork is done by Kwon Shina and OMG it’s gorgeous. The artwork is very fashion forward, but it still stays close to the Rider-Waite Smith deck. Therefore, it will be easy to work with and you will be able to use other tarot guidebooks if you need a little extra help.
Crystal Visions Tarot by Jennifer Galasso
The Crystal Vision tarot deck (ad) is a colorful appealing deck. It’s whimsical and has a little bit of a fantasy vibe to it. Again, the artwork stays very close to the Rider-Waite Smith which makes it a perfect deck for beginners.
Joie de Vivre Tarot by Paulina Cassidy
Paulina Cassidy’s artwork is ethereal. Some might say her decks are not beginner friendly because of all of the detail in them. However, I strongly disagree. Her decks have a lot of detail so they make perfect decks for mediation and self-reflection. The Joie de Vivre tarot deck (ad) has a very fun and lighthearted energy to it which makes it such a fun deck to use. This is a deck that you can pair with any traditional Rider-Waite Smith guidebook and work with intuitively as well.
Tarot of the Hidden Realm by Julia Jeffrey and Barbara Moore
I saved the best for last. Tarot of the Hidden Realm (ad) was my second deck ever purchased and for that reason I had to include it on this list. The artwork is my absolute favorite. If you like fairies, and a lot of movement in your artwork then this is the one for you. It’s a magical and a powerful deck to work with. Like all the other decks on this list it also follows the Rider-Waite Smith system.
