So I was strolling through the beauty aisle at target like one does when they are bored and I stumbled upon a shelf with products by the brand Versed. I had never heard of the brand until then so I was very intrigued. All the products were in pretty colorful packaging that instantly reminded me of Glossier. I purchased the Wash It Out Gel Cleanser and a few other products that I thought I might enjoy, and have since been slowly incorporating them into my skincare routine.

The Cleanser

The Wash It Out Gel Cleanser is vegan, cruelty free, dye – free and also fragrance – free. The fragrance – free part was what really stood out to me so I knew I had to try out. It is also $12.99 at Target so it is on the more affordable side compared to other cleansers I have used in the past.

I always use a different face wash or balm to remove my makeup. So, when I bought the Wash It Out Cleanser I knew I was going to be using it as a second cleanse. Sadly this cleanser is not for me. I knew it wasn’t for me right away when it left my face feeling really tight after using it. After a few days my face also started to feel really dry.

It says right on the bottle that it’s a gel cleanser. However, on the back it does say it has a “frothy lather”.  The consistency is gel like but it does lather up and is almost a light foam when you add water to rinse it off. Foam cleansers tend to dry out my face so I always stay away from them. I was hoping that the Wash It Out Gel Cleanser would be like the Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser, but it’s not.

I have normal to combination skin and it gets dry and dehydrated in the winter. If you have skin like mine this cleanser might not work for you.

On the bright side I have been trying out a few other products from Versed, and I really like them.

Have you tried anything from Versed before? If so, I’d love to know your favorite products from them.
